This year we welcome Collin Ray and the Larkins to the Dogwood Center (note the new location) for two shows at 6:00pm and 8:30pm on April 27th. More details later!

2012 Event: Griffins Hockey Game

Let’s go the game! We’re planning on attending a Grand Rapids Griffins hockey game on March 17th. Tickets will range in price between $22-26 depending on how many people attend. We can all get better rates if we pay in advance so please contact us if you plan on attending the game. The game starts at 7:00pm.

2012 Event: Downhill Sledding

From the December 22, 2011 newsletter:

We will have a downhill sledding event on February 19th, 2012. We will be using the lodge at Branstrom Park to warm up in while the kids (in actual age or those that never grew up) or grandkids slide on the hill or skate on the ice. FOP will have hot chocolate and hot dogs (maybe marshmallows) there. Bring a bag of chips or your favorite desert to pass and we will see you there between noon and 3:00. This will be dependent on the availability of snow and severity of weather.

2012 Winter Dinner

The 2012 Winter Dinner will be held on February 4th. We will be holding it at the Gerber Union Hall again. This year we welcome back Linwood Mast to co-create a dinner with Sandy Derks They have not revealed to me yet what is on the menu but with many FOP dinners from both chefs under my belt I have no doubt it will be another winner Let’s have a social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 and dinner after that. Dues will be collected at the door for those of you who pay annually.

2011 Winter Dinner

Join us for food and fellowship at the 2011 Winter Dinner! The dinner is set for February 19 at the RWDSU union hall in Fremont. Social hour is from 6:00pm to 6:30pm with a ham dinner following. After the dinner there will be a Texas Hold’em tournament.

Build a Burger Event

Our Order is building burgers at the jail! On October 29 at 11:00am the new addition to the jail in White Cloud is holdin ga Grand Opening celebration and we are helping by hosting a “Build a Burger Event.” The grand opening is at 11:00. We will be serving from 11:30am to 1:30 pm. Stop in and join us for a free burger.

Nominations for officers will be held in November and December. We are always looking for input as well as action. Our meetings are the 3rd Monday of the month at the Gerber Union Hall across from the Fremont Lanes Bowling Alley. Let’s all show up and get involved!

2011 County Western Show date set

Our Country Western Show next year will be April 29, 2011 at the Fremont High School gym. Our headline singer will be Daryle Singletary. Some of us remember his early songs like “I’m living up to her low expectation” and “I let her lie.” If you are newer to the country music scene, he has a new hit “Love you with the lights on.” We are excited to hear Mr. Singletary this spring.
